After developing the modules for our project in an interdisciplinary way in the first few months of the project, we will start the first implementation phase in the summer 2025. We will work with students from the Bachelor’s degree programme to develop the basics of the European Union, in particular the Green New Deal (GND), but also the concept of sustainability, civic education and education for sustainable development (ESD).
Preparations in progress
In a Master’s seminar, students learn the basics of project work, everything about the ‘CLIL’ and ‘Making’ didactic approaches and realise their first own project. Preparations are already underway for this too. Sawdust is flying during the creation of maker box number 1 (photo 1).
We are also looking at swarm behaviour with a view to the traffic of the future. We know it from ants, fish or birds. They move purposefully from one place to the next in swarms and you wonder how they manage to do this. From a scientific and technical perspective, we can also ask whether the apparent intelligence of animals can help us to develop autonomous vehicles and, from a social science perspective, to what extent this will make the transport of the future more sustainable and what social consequences are associated with this. Maker Box 1 explores these questions.
